Dock —

This photo was one of my first attempts with the NDX filter, in a feeble attempt to take long-exposure dock/water photos similar to those taken by Tom Kaszuba, whose photos inspired me to purchase the NDX. While Green Bay has some choppy water on normal days, it’s not quite enough to provide the absolutely mist-like quality Tom seems to get (but he’s in Connecticut, and can get ocean-fed wave action — at least, that’s what I’m telling myself!).
While many of my dock photos didn’t turn out how I’d hoped, I’m actually quite pleased with many of my NDX results — particularly sunset photos, or ones where the focus is on people and their activity. Since it’s a new tool in my arsenal, I’m still learning the ropes. But it’s a blast to play with!
