Sunset Haze

Sunset Haze

By Sunday I’d had enough of my typical sunset photos through the wide-angle lens, and decided to try telephoto. The result was more distance compression in the water and a much larger solar disc — and what I’m sure is a proportionally larger amount of retinal damage done while composing the photos.

Even before sunset we know Sunday was more hazy than Friday or Saturday. But there appeared to be a much thicker layer of atmospheric haze right by the horizon that we couldn’t see until the sun started to traverse it. I managed to capture the sun starting to sink into that layer, and this image is the result.
