My friend Tony.

Tony lives near the old Cedar Avenue bridge, and suggested it for our recent photography outing. Tony’s wedding photography is really taking off, and he’s been talking about purchasing the Canon Trinity — the 35L, 85L, and 135L prime lenses. So for this outing, Tony’s quest was to shoot the entire session on primes (either his 50mm, or my 28mm or 85mm). However, none were wide enough for the bridge shots he wanted, and after Tony lamented not having the 16-35mm yet, I offered my 17-40mm for his use!

While Tony’s 5D goes wider on his 24-70 than my 30D does on my 17-40, Tony forgets how much wider 17mm is than 24mm! He kept trying to sneak the lens into his bag when I wasn’t looking…
