Border Dahlia

Having tasted natural-light macro in Door County, I was reluctant to add light to every single flower shot at the Arboretum. However, given the overcast sky I needed some support — and given the light drizzle I didn’t like lugging around the tripod (try doing that while holding an umbrella)!

I ended up pulling out the monopod (it needed some love, anyway!), and decided to go with a wide aperture and go with a fuzzier, low depth-of-field look. I think it turned out fairly well…
