While this tree may look like the crabapple trees that Jenny and I were so amazed by, this is actually port of the Arboretum’s Shade Tree exhibit, and is an Eastern Redbud tree.
The Redbud’s blossoms don’t really release much of a fragrance, and although we hadn’t yet visited the Arboretum’s full crabapple orchard we’d passed several crabapple trees already at this point in our visit, and found the lack of fragrance disappointing as this tree is really quite beautiful!
